Top 5 Attractions Near Marina Bay Sands
Step out of the luxury confines of Marina Bay Sands and immerse yourself in the charm and splendor of these top 5 must-see nearby attractions — a testament to the city’s fusion of modernity, culture, and awe-inspiring architecture.
1) Gardens by the Bay
Gardens by the Bay is an award-winning horticultural destination featuring the renowned Supertree Grove. Here you can wander through the towering vertical gardens, explore conservatories to admire diverse plant species, and walk the OCBC Skyway for breathtaking views of the city and bay.
There are numerous gardens you can visit for free. The most popular garden is the Supertree Grove (the tall tree-like towers), with the nightly lightshow also being free of charge. So if you are only interested in visiting the Supertree Grove, then no need to purchase tickets. However, there are several attractions you will need to purchase a ticket for, listed below:
- Supertree Observatory: head up to an indoor observation deck atop the tallest supertree
- OCBC Skyway: walk along an elevated bridge walkway among the supertrees
- Flower Dome: full of beautiful and colorful flowers from unique locations
- Cloud Forest: full of exotic plant species and features a tall indoor waterfall
- Floral Fantasy: features beautiful suspended floral arrangements
You can purchase a combo ticket for multiple attractions or some can purchased be a la carte. Check out their website here for ticket options.
During my visit, I prioritized visiting the Supertree Grove so I initially did not pay to enter Gardens by the Bay. But as I roamed around, it’s ahrd to not want to check out the other exhibits! The Cloud Forest had a nice otherworldly and serene atmosphere due to the misty screens, and it even had creatures from the Avatar movie franchise. It really made me feel like I walked into the world of Avatar!
In the Supertree Grove, the sun was setting when I visited, so I HAD to purchase a ride up onto the OCBC Skyway. Up here, there were breathtaking views of the towering trees with the skyline of Singapore behind it. Not to mention the amazing Marina Bay Sands towering in the distance.

2) ArtScience Museum at Marina Bay Sands
The ArtScience Museum seamlessly combines art, science, culture, and technology. Its unique lotus-inspired design hosts captivating exhibitions that invite visitors to immerse themselves in interactive, thought-provoking displays. There’s always something new to discover as they have both rotating showcases and permanent exhibits.
During my visit, I went to the Future World: Where Art Meets Science exhibit. The exhibit contained numerous fun interactive installations where we tried to partake in them all. Two interactive installations I really enjoyed was being able to color you own design on a shape they provide. Then your design will be displayed in the coolest way: on a huge wall screen!! It was amazing to see my own art come to life through technology. You can even control one of them. Definitely a must-try when here.
There was also a floating obstacle course you can partake in but only if you have closed-toe shoes. I unfortunately did not so it was that was the only installation I was not able to do. The exhibit also had an infinity light room installation called Crystal Universe, by teamLab. This infinity room is a smaller version of the light room at Tokyo’s teamLab Planets museum but it still retains its mesmerizing light and borderless effects!

3) Merlion Park
A short walk away from Marina Bay Sands lies the iconic Merlion Park. The Merlion Park is home of the mythical Merlion statue, a symbol of Singapore. The Merlion statue majestically overlooks the bay which offers an amazing picturesque backdrop for memorable photos. From here, you can take a leisurely stroll along the waterfront promenade and enjoy panoramic views of the city skyline and Marina Bay Sands. If you continue following it along, then you can make it to the next attraction: the Helix Bridge!
4) Helix Bridge
Adjacent to Marina Bay Sands stands the Helix Bridge, an architectural marvel resembling a double-helix structure. This pedestrian bridge offers a convenient walkway connecting Marina Bay Sands and the Waterfront Promenade, while also offering panoramic views of the bay and city skyline. Walking the length of the bridge will take about 10 minutes one-way. There are also three viewpoint decks that you can step out on to enjoy the views and take photos.
I always love a good skyline dotted with tall buildings, but the views from Helix Bridge were unmatched! Not only did I get a nice skyline, but the unique design and architecture of this bridge, the ArtScience Museum, AND the Marina Bay Sands made visiting and walking along this bridge an unexpected highlight for me.
5) The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands
At The Shoppes is an upscale shopping mall connected to Marina Bay Sands. Every time I visited or passed through the Shoppes, its elegant and modern interior was like being immersed in luxury and indulgence. It is an attraction in itself surrounded by stunning architecture and waterfront views. The mall can be accessed from the hotel lobby floor via an escalator that brings you underground and directly into the mall (don’t worry there are signs to find it!). You can wander and browse The Shoppes and find designer boutiques, luxury brands, and unique shops.
Be sure to check out the Louis Vuitton and Apple Store. Both of these stores are located outside right on the water but can also be accessed from inside the mall. The Apple Store is in a glass dome with awesome 360-degree views from the water. Additionally, if you’re hungry, there is a diverse range of restaurants and dining options, including a busy indoor hawker (food center) located on the lowest level.
Lastly, directly in between the Apple Store and Louis Vuitton is where the Spectra light and water show will perform every night. Showtimes are below:
- Sun – Thu: 8pm & 9pm
- Fri & Sat: 8pm, 9pm & 10pm
