Why Choose a Half-day Nadi Tour?
Nadi is a super convenient destination in Fiji since the Nadi Airport is located here and is a popular destination and also stopover for flights traveling between Oceania and the Americas. Fiji is packed with a mix of culture, nature, and local life, which you can get a taste of in a half-day tour.
The tour lasts about 4-5 hours, making it easy to add to your Fiji itinerary. Not only that, but it’s also a perfect way to see a ton of Fiji highlights in a short amount of time.
I highly recommend going on a half-day Nadi Tour if you:
- have a long layover in Nadi, Fiji
- want to have a relaxed first day in Nadi
- want a great and easygoing introduction to Fijian culture
Nadi Highlights Tour
The tour we went on visited the below Nadi’s highlights that should not be missed!
Sri Siva Subramaniya Swami Temple
The first stop was at a beautifully colorful Hindu temple, Sri Siva Subramaniya Swami Temple. To enter the temple grounds, you are required to wear a long skirt (for women), and long pants (for men). They do have rental sarongs for you to wear, which the guide will give you upon entering.
Additionally, you are also required to take off your shoes and leave them by the entrance. However, the ground can be hot which made it hard for me to walk on comfortably, so I recommend bringing a pair of socks to put on if you’re wearing sandals or flip flops. The main part of the temple is shaded though, so you’ll only be walking on hot ground to and from the main temple.

Tappoo Nadi Department Store
The next stop was at Tappoo Nadi Department Store. We were lucky enough to have a Kava Tea Ceremony here. During the tea ceremony, the staff member explained kava and the effects of various amounts. She made enough kava tea for everyone on the tour to try some, and a couple people even had seconds. After the tea ceremony, we were given some time to explore the store, do some souvenir shopping, or even get some ice cream or some more coffee at the small cafe inside. This is also where we paid for the tour (by credit card) to our tour guide.

Nadi Produce Markets
Once we were all done shopping and paying for the tour, we then made our way to the Nadi Produce Markets. Here we got to see some cava root, and then we were free to buy and eat our own produce. I really wanted some juicy mango so we had our guide show us where we could get some mango. It was definitely one of the juiciest mangoes I’ve ever had. If you want to buy produce at the market, then you will need to pay in Fijian dollars.

Garden of the Sleeping Giant
Afterwards, we went to the Garden of the Sleeping Giant. This was a beautiful walk-through garden where a guide at the garden takes us through and points out everything we’re seeing. We saw so many types of flowers, plants, and trees. At the end of the tour, we were also given the most refreshing fruit drink and relaxed with fans blowing.

Tifajek Mud Pool & Hotspring
The last stop on the tour was to the Tifajek Mud Pool & Hotspring. We didn’t know we were going to do this tour so we unfortunately didn’t wear or bring or swimwear with us on the tour. So if you want to experience this same tour, then I suggest bringing or wearing your swimwear under your clothes so that you can fully participate! The guide did let us know that we can participate by putting the mud on your legs and arms, so …we did 🙂
After we put all the mud on our legs, we then dipped, or more like walked into the nearby mud bath to wash away all the mud. Our legs felt so nice and smooth after! Others in our group also did just legs with a small number of them choosing to do the entire body. I’m sure a full body mudding would have felt amazing. Then after we washed all the mud away, we went into the hotspring and relaxed in the warm waters and enjoyed the atmosphere.

Tips to Make the Most of Your Adventure
1. Get Fijian Currency
If you’re looking to purchase some product at the market, or some small souvenirs, then exchange or withdraw some Fijian cash!
2. Bring a Pair of Socks for the Temple
You are required to take your shoes off to enter the temple grounds, and the ground can be super hot to walk on! So to not burn your feet and have some level of comfort walking barefoot, bring or wear a pair of socks for the temple.
3. Put on Swimwear Under Your Clothes for the Mud Bath
If you want to put mud on more parts of your body to fully experience a mudding, then wear your bathing suit under your clothes! There are changing room at the hotspring too if you prefer to change into it as well.
Final Words
If you’re in Nadi, visit and experience the top highlights! In just a few hours, you can get a taste of Fijian produce, experience a traditional tea ceremony, immerse in beautiful nature, and relax in a hotspring! All of this can be enjoyed in a short half-day Nadi tour that can fit into any Fiji itinerary. Bon Voyage!
